20+39= One short trip to Idaho

This weekend for Christophers B-day we decided to drive to Idaho. We left on Friday at 2 and left Idaho Sunday at 2. Do the math. 10 hours in the car on the way there, 39 hours total at Nannies and Grampas, and 10 hours in the car. We laugh about this but it was really fun! We saw Christopher's family, an old friend from New Mexico, and Court and Trish Church. I would actually do it again. The kids did pretty well in the car. Aiden cried when we left. He wanted to say longer. We know that we really want to end up in Idaho. We miss it!

Chalk Dreams

This is what happens when I let my Children play with sidewalk chalk! Not to mention they got it all over their clothes too!

The Media News

I have been thinking a lot lately about the allegations against the FLDS church, and the child abuse problems. I am appalled by the way Texas is handling the case. Why were all the children taken from their homes? There is no way that every child was born in a place that had a mother that was being abused. There is no way that every child was in danger. I can understand why there are questions being asked and action being taken. I understand that there is some abuse in the compound. I just feel so sorry for the children that don't understand what is happening, for the women that were in loving relationships, and for all the mess ups that the state of Texas is having. I don't agree with polygamy, or abuse, but I don't think that this is the way to deal with it. I also don't like the way the media is portraing these poor people. They don't have TV, the don't deal with the media and they are being torn apart.

...and then he was done

Most of you know that Christopher has been working on his thesis for his masters degree for almost a year now. After many late nights last week, and two trips to Fort Collins he officially is finished! We are so proud of him. On the Friday that we went to Fort Collins to turn it in it was a roller coaster ride. Christopher noticed that the page that held all the signatures was formatted incorrectly. he asked his advisor about this and his advisor told him it was fine. So we drive over the the grad school and turn it in. They checked it real quick for formatting and lo and behold the signature page had to be redone. The next 1 1/2 hours were spent chasing down his committee for their signatures with the kids and I in waiting in the car. But after all the hassle he was able to get all of the signatures and the dumb thing turned in. We must now say goodbye to Colorado State! See ya on May 16th for Graduation!

ps--sorry about the lack of pics! Our computer and camera are not speaking to each other!

The life of Aiden

We have had a horrible time getting our children to sleep at decent hours ever since daylight savings started. Seriously, I am laying in bed at night willing myself to stay awake so that I can turn Aiden's headlamp off after he falls asleep. Ridiculous! So I am trying a new technique. I woke them up early this morning and put them down for nap earlier. I thought I was in the clear so I hopped on my treadmill for 40 minutes. After I ran I headed upstairs for a cool glass of water. To my surprise I almost stepped on a half naked Aiden. He used the bathroom and couldn't put his pants back on. I guess he didn't want to interrupt my run so he laid on the stairs. Who knows how long he was there. Why that kid can't just sleep when I put him in his bed I don't know. Maybe he will get better as I wake them up earlier. At least then I can sleep at night.

Motivation

Okay-- So I am still training for my half marathon. But there is a problem, I am totally running out of motivation. Today I sunk to adding Britney Spears, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake to my playlist so I would have something with a really strong beat to listen to. I have tried watching TV while I run on my treadmill only to get bored in about 10 minutes. I have to run 9 and a half miles this weekend. I am running it with Erika, which will keep me going but.... What if i have to rely on my own motivation? Can anyone give me any ideas about how they stay motivated to do anything????

The Funny things kids say

Yesterday in the car Aiden was singing the Wiggles song. Hunter kept saying "No Song." She was starting to get upset so we asked Aiden to sing another song. Hestopped singing and Hunter immediately decided to sing. Can you guesswhat song-- The Wiggles! She is so funny. She did not want to hear that song but to sing it herself!

Aiden yesterday was having a really heard time getting into the bed time mode. We told him that it was dark and it was time to get ready for bed. He then asked me if Jesus turned the sun off. Which I replied to yes, because that is how we explain that it is dark. He then asked if Jesus could turn it back on. I told him that he would have to talk to Jesus about that. THEN he asked me if he could borrow my phone to call Jesus and ask him to turn the sun back on! Hilarious!

They call me Bubba

I guess that Aiden's duel personality came out at church last Sunday. The nursery leaders still don't know his name, so when they asked him this week all that he would say was Bubba. Apparently he was not in the mood to be Aiden but want to be Bubba!

Happy Birthday to Aiden!!

We celebrated Aiden's 3rd Birthday this week end with a ton of friends. I think that we had a total of 23 people in out house at one time. It was awesome! Aiden loved being the center of attention , and we had fun with his new toys. Our friends, Ty and Amber got him a Nerf gun and so did we. I think that Sam and Amber had more fun shooting each other that Aiden did. Although, the kids did shoot them a lot. Aiden also got a present that he didn't like. Four sticky scorpions. He won't even touch them! He screams when you come near him with one of them. We had pizza for dinner, and a Shrek cake for dessert. I am so excited to have our next party!

I can't add pics right now but I will when blogger lets me
